Imports

Importing is when goods or services are bought from other countries to be used in Ireland. It consists of two elements: Visible imports and Invisible imports.

Visible Imports are goods bought from other countries. For example, cars bought from Germany or wine bought from Australia.

Invisible Imports are services bought from other countires. For example, Irish people going on holiday to Spain.

Exports

Exports consist of two elements: Visible exports and Invisible exports.

Visible Exports are goods sold to other countries.
Examples include Irish beef and Guinness.

Invisible Exports are services sold to other countries. Examples include foreign students coming to Ireland to learn English during the summer.
